Frequently Asked Questions

The private First Aid/CPR/AED session is booked online with a $190 base fee, plus any per-student amount you add at checkout once you know your group size. Whatever you've paid is refundable on the following schedule if you need to cancel:

• 48 hours or more before your session: fully refundable.
• Between 24 and 48 hours before your session: 50% refundable.
• Within 24 hours of your session: non-refundable.

To cancel or reschedule, contact us as soon as you can -- the sooner we hear from you, the more of your payment is refundable.

Both HSI and American Red Cross are nationally recognized organizations, and both issue a two-year First Aid/CPR/AED certificate that satisfies OSHA workplace and other regulatory certification requirements -- for most students, either one works equally well, and the choice comes down to personal or employer preference.

A few things that might help you decide:

• Check with your employer or licensing board first -- some specifically require (or prefer) one organization's certificate over the other.
• American Red Cross private sessions also cover Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED alongside Adult, which HSI's private session does not -- a better fit if you work with children (childcare, coaching, teaching).
• If you're not sure, contact us and tell us what the certificate is for -- we're happy to help you pick.

Our private First Aid/CPR/AED session lets you book online and choose your organization yourself at checkout, by adding that organization's per-student item to your order (HSI or American Red Cross, not both -- we can only issue one organization's certificate per session). If you don't know your final group size or organization yet, you can pay just the $190 base deposit instead and finalize both with us before your session.
