First Aid for Range Safety Officer

Duration: 4 hrs · Price: $120.00

A first aid course built with extra knowledge and hands-on practice to stop life-threatening bleeding. These skills are essential for the people running the line -- range safety officers, range staff, and firearm instructors -- who are more likely than most to face a traumatic, gunshot-related injury on the job. Firearm enthusiasts and safety professionals will also find this course particularly valuable. The course bundles two certifications into one session: the American Red Cross Adult First Aid/CPR/AED (instructor-led) with Skill Boost for Life-Threatening Bleeding and Tourniquet Application, and USCCA Emergency First Aid Fundamentals (Control the Bleed) module.

The Red Cross portion covers standard first aid, adult CPR, and AED use, plus hands-on practice controlling severe bleeding with direct pressure, wound packing, and a manufactured (windlass) tourniquet -- skills drawn from the national Stop the Bleed initiative. The USCCA Emergency First Aid Fundamentals (Control the Bleed) module further develops bleeding control skills, including the use of compression bandages, chest seals and other common types of tourniquets. Discounted for range staff and firearm instructors: if you work at a shooting range or hold an active firearms-instructor certification (NRA, USCCA, or state), contact us before booking to confirm your discounted rate.
